About Talia Bingham
What can we make that is new?
I'm Talia Bingham: the owner, creator and woman-who-wears-all-the-hats of Bingham Watercolours. This small business was created out of the sheer egotistical thought "how hard could it be?" that accompanies most artistic experiments but especially experiments of those who studied not only Fine Arts, but more specifically sculpture (imagine I'm wearing my snooty graduation cap).
After much research (wearing my explorer hat), and experiments ( wearing my mad scientist hat, which is a little like a witch's hat) I finally figured it out. That brings us to where Bingham Watercolours is today. As an artist, I always ask "What can we make that is new?" The answer I've settled on, is that whatever we make is simultaneously new, fresh, exciting, and altogether not remotely new at all, (she says, wearing her artsy-fartsy philosopher's hat). It is new because never before have I done this exact thing, and it matters not what has and hasn't been done before by others. That thought frees me up to enjoy creating for the love of doing so (picture me wearing my artist hat, which is just my messy hair in a bun with paint splotches covering strands here and there).
Each colour palette I make, is inspired by the Western Cape, South Africa. My collection of palettes are carefully crafted to bring the essence of the beautiful landscapes and vibrant culture around me into the artwork of those kind enough to try out my paints.
And if anyone gets this far down the about page, thank you (I'm wearing my sincere hat), and also look how incredibly talented Koa Photography is in this lekker headshot of me.
